Deadmau5 drops a slight re-work of his classic or classics; The Reward is Cheese. If you are new to the greatness of this song this is a good place to get familiar or if you are already a convert here is an update, with a little more noise and complexity.
the reward is more cheese- Deadmau5

Until this point the only Black Holes track I could find was a remix of Hollywood Holt. And I got tired of Hollywood Holt ages ago. (If you are curious click this link). Here we can more fully appreciate the complexity and echoing fidget of Black Holes.
Little Jinder – Polyhedron (Black Holes Remix)

Diplo leaves South America (and the Favella beats he usually uses) alone in this outing which sounds a bit Kissy Sell Out meets Metric with a crazy clapping, strumming and screech of a synth line all supporting the vocal loop which sounds so indy it hurts.
Must be the Devil- Diplo

Remember Zombie Nation? The birth of one of the most infectious and popular dance songs of all time, the “Oh oh oh ooh” that soon spread to be a sports chant? Until this day several of my friends claim the band to be named “Kernkraft 400″ and the song to be “Zombie Nation”. Well here is a newer offering, one of more intelligence and bang.
Zombie Nation – Forza (FUKKK OFFF Remix)

With you forever – PNAU
Two creepy looking men make an amazing album featuring beautiful vocals and dancing strawberries.

( Photo of Deadmau5 in deep thought.)
Move For Me (Santiago & Bushido Mix) – Kaskade feat. Deadmau5
It is a little hard to follow what happened with this track (Why is Kaskade featuring Deadmau5 and not the other way around? And who is singing?) but we can rest assured that the finished product is gorgeous.

Enjoy (Crookers Remix) – Outhere Brothers
Just when you thought I was going soft on you. Here is some epic skittery noise by the masters of electronic crunk. The Crookers are due to drop an album either in “October, November or December”
according to their cooking interview. No I am serious.

Finally a remix of this song that can fit in a dance set! As songs become less and less off limits to remixes and edits we are starting to get our hands on glam rock classics.
Mobin Master & Hess Glitter Bomb (Bootleg)

More Deadmau5, a bit slower and pretty and somewhat hard to find. Add to your collection or start a new obsession.
Deadmau5- Clockwork (Original Mix)

I have always been so-so on the Twelves but this remix found my ear with a nice happy disco feel that stays subtle.
The Virgins- Rich Girls (The Twelves Remix)

Seattle Does Not Suck (This Time)

At about 5 PM on Friday I decided I wanted to go see Deadmau5 in Seattle. I had known about the show for sometime but had brushed off the idea originally and it has taken a week or two to really sink in that I have free time now. Spontaneous adventures are always the best so I called up Diego, Sean and Koolaid and we piled into the car two hours later.

We were deathly afraid we would arrive late, the Decibel festival was supposed to be popping and Deadmau5 is the sort of name that sells out clubs quickly. Luckily we quickly found the venue and got inside where it was indeed incredibly packed, a good mix of hipsters and bro’s with little pockets of burners. Not much dancing at first and almost no one was drinking so we assumed that everyone was just waiting for their tabs to kick in.

M.I.A. Paper Planes (DFA Remix)

The DFA style of remixes seems to have been absent in recent memory with the hand claps and horns of the Discopunk moment being replaced in 2008 by the epic house build of remixes by acts like Deadmau5 and Soulwax. This is not to discredit DFA as a label and the creator of some amazing pop remixes a few years back. As if to prove continuing relevance this remix has recently surfaced, a hugely different, slowed down sports anthem like version M.I.A.’s biggest hit. It’s sweeping, it’s grand and it will likely not be heard on the dance floor. This is one for a big budget movie or headphones on a sunny day.

Deadmau5

He wears giant red Mickey Mouse ears, a cartoon grin and light up eyes. He is young and selling out arenas with progressive house that occasionally veers in the direction of epic and electro. He is from Canada, has a strange name (you have to restrain yourself from saying “Deadman 5″ every time you read it) and he is well worth getting acquainted with.

The Reward is Cheese- Deadmau5 VS Jelo
Merrymaking (Deadmau5 remix) – Calvin Harris
The Turning Point- Deadmau5

and gray adds – Daft Punk – harder faster stronger (deadmau5 edit)
