A little history on bassline provided by wiki.

Bassline is a subgenre of UK garage music that mixes elements of speed garage, 4×4 garage and R&B, and shares characteristics with fellow subgenres dubstep and grime for their emphasis on bass. The style originated in Sheffield around 2002.

Bassline has been at the centre of controversy in Sheffield due to a police raid on the former bassline club night Niche, after which the club closed down. Police raided the club amidst reports that the scene had been attracting violence, drug use and gang culture. Since it was the most popular bassline night in Sheffield prior to its closure, Niche is sometimes used as an alternative name for the musical genre. Like grime, bassline is still associated with violence, anti-social behaviour and criminal activity. 

So basically bassline is the music of thugs, social degenerates, and drug dealers. So its no wonder that I love it!

P.S. If you didn’t look at the calendar it is the first friday of a new month and that means HOT MESS! Oh you don’t really know what that is. Well thank god I’m here to plan your life for you. Its one of Portland’s monthly events that encourages you to slip on those ruby red slippers and dance off to Oz. The beats for tonight are provided by, H.R. Paper?stack?s,? Hoop Dream?s,? and mystery guess that apparently has no body hair at all!

Here is a little more info.

H.R. Paperstacks holds one of Portland’s biggest Dj mysteries, THE BOX. Now according to him its super easy to use and is like the easiest thing in the world to use. I looked it up and it makes no sense to me at all. It’s The Ion CDJ with effects wheel component (what ever the fuck that means). I personally think its from mars. Anyhoo H.R. plays some mean ass club hits that just make you wanna dance, plus if your lucky he might touch on some hip hop throwbacks. One of my top ten dance DJ’s in Portland, I love me some Paperstacks

Hoop Dreams aka the hooded wonder plays just about everything. In his mix The Cronicles of the bathroom Wolf he touches on hard dance electro, 90’s club hits, and even Disco. Has a definite style with crazy loops and smooth flowing transitions that incorporate soothing breakdowns and killer buildups.

I hear the special guest is some teacher from Eugene with a degree or some crap like that. Also he has no body hair. Kinda creepy if you ask me!

So it’s my personal belief that Don Rimini has a golden touch. If you don’t have his new EP Kick and Run, well then I just can be associated with you. Don’t you worry thought I got your back on this one. Mr. Rimini came out with a new track a remix of The Count & Sinden - Hardcore Girls and in Don Rimini fashion it kicks you in the teeth with its thrashing vocals by Rye Rye and heavy bass line.
