the american dream team

I first took notice of TADT when one of our DJ’s dropped it at our Tuesday night residency at the Crown Room. It was the song featuring Whiskey Pete, Money VIP- the one that screams “Money, Bitches, Cars, Clothes and Weed!”. I was hooked from the first listen. Behind the bonkers Party Monster style anthem there was also a heavy chugging bass line and enough digital distortion to satisfy T-Pain. More then anything it was catchy as hell.
The American Dream Team- Money VIP feat. Whiskey Pete and Andre Parnell (DJ Countzero Edit)
I searched everything I could on the subject, getting several versions of their decent mixtape but more importantly some equally audacious singles.
The American Dream Team- American Stopper
In American Stopper we find the evolution of one the most obnoxiously catchy vocal melodies of all time. Add to that layers of vocals and bass with a few scattered gun shots. Possibly my favorite song to DJ at this exact moment.
The American Dream Team – Pound for Pound
The American Dream Team – Listen to the Music
A little less accessible then the hipster rap of the newer work, these songs are most notable for the blurry almost dream like vocals, repeating and blending over the trademark bass line and high chimes. It is almost like a tropical Vengaboys got hit over the head by heavy blog house. And this is a good thing.
Trouble Andrew – Chase Money (The American Dream Team REMIX)
The most recent song (which I just opened out of my inbox yesterday) seems to be the most evolved work to date- the poppy, smooth gangster vocals, the cash box sample, the bass line, all of this remains but I feel there is now a certain amount of emotion now involved.
“Does your money love you, does your money fuck you? Is it nice to talk to? Does your money hug you? Does your money want you? Does your money haunt you?”

fucking love the countzero edit. keep it up!!
