On Friday February 20th Fuckbadmusic.com and DigitaLove are proud to present the Seventh in a series of monthly parties this time featuring a night of Tech House from the best in the Northwest: Andrew Mataus, Forrest Avery, Quillan and resident DJ Countzero.

Held at Branx nightclub, on 2nd and SE Oak, this popular night is taking it even further with some of the most respected and established names in house music, visuals and a cover of only three dollars before eleven. After eleven it is five dollars entrance.

Andrew Mataus
Gaia Tribe, EUG
In 1997, at the age of 14, Andrew Mataus was introduced to house music and at the ripe age of 17 Andrew played his first party. His music soon took him to Calgary, Canada for the his first out of state and country experience. Andrew had a dream of flying as far as he could for a gig. Dreams became reality when offered the opportunity to play for Russia’s number one club Propaganda, Moscow and becoming the youngest DJ to do so, at age 19. In 1998, Andrew joined with his brother Maté to start a production company, Gaia Tribe. Gaia Tribe is now internationally known as Oregon’s link to the underground house culture. In the first year it drew 1,300 people, the second year it drew 1,800 people. Earning it the right of best party in the NW in 2001. Currently working on a new project, Andrew has teamed up with Amfibious Records and UnitingSouls to help guide the launch of Night Owl Recordings. From Costa Rica to Canada, Portugal to Russia, Andrew Mataus has, in a short time, impacted the globe with the intention of peace and culture.

Forest Avery

Forrest Avery has always liked music, but it wasn’t until the summer of 1994 that he thought he might have anything to do with making it. After attending his first “Rave” event at the impressionable young age of 14, he was hooked on the scene, and inspired by the music. Fourteen years later Forrest Avery has quite a history, talent and a number of releases. In 2008, Forrest Avery launched Serial Sickness as a digital release label aimed at featuring new and established artists from the Northwest electronic music scene. Before the year was done he had signed additional releases to Rithmica Music, Bump Academy, Bridge City, and Midwest Hustle Music Digital.

Quillan has quickly made a name for himself playing out frequently around town with his a very recognizable sound all his own. Often performing as half of The Merchants Of, a DJ duo with his friend Android. They helped started the party LoWer and play the dirtiest in tech house and techno at popular venues such as 2410.

Countzero

Countzero, along with DJ Gray, runs the website fuckbadmusic.com a successful music blog based in Portland Oregon. Countzero’s sets feature the styles of fidget and ghetto house, often playing the newest tracks from the blog.
