Following up your debut with a free single is a safe bet when trying to avoid the ’sophmore slump’. Who’s going to get upset about free music, good or bad? Well, certainly not me, and certainly not if its this good.

(Side B) Kevin Hume - The Celestial Sleek-No Further

Both instrumentals offer the same mood, playing off their respective titles rather appropriately. While both evoke images of night time in the south, ‘Night of the Velociped’ offers a more abstract take on the subject, where ‘Celestial Sleek’ goes just about where you’d hope, calmly and serenely to sleep-No Further. Hume is doing something right, and I wouldn’t mind listening over and over until I figure out just what that is.
